Journal of Sustainable Smart Technologies (JSST)

Overview

The Journal of Sustainable Smart Technologies (JSST) follows a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review Process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and impactful scholarly research. The review process is designed to maintain fairness, objectivity, transparency, and academic integrity.


Step 1: Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the JSST Online Journal Management System.

The submission must comply with:

  • Author Guidelines
  • Formatting Requirements
  • Publication Ethics Policy
  • Plagiarism Policy

Step 2: Initial Editorial Screening

The Editorial Office conducts a preliminary assessment to verify:

  • Scope alignment
  • Manuscript quality
  • Formatting compliance
  • Ethical compliance
  • Similarity screening

Manuscripts failing to meet basic requirements may be returned to authors or rejected before peer review.


Step 3: Assignment to Handling Editor

The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor assigns the manuscript to an appropriate handling editor with expertise in the subject area.


Step 4: Reviewer Selection

At least two independent experts are invited to review the manuscript.

JSST follows a Double-Blind Review Model:

  • Authors remain anonymous to reviewers.
  • Reviewers remain anonymous to authors.

Step 5: Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality
  • Technical quality
  • Research methodology
  • Relevance to journal scope
  • Scientific contribution
  • Clarity of presentation
  • Ethical compliance
  • Contribution to sustainable development and smart technologies

Step 6: Editorial Decision

Based on reviewer recommendations, one of the following decisions may be issued:

Accept

The manuscript is accepted for publication.

Minor Revision

Minor modifications are required.

Major Revision

Substantial revisions are required before reconsideration.

Reject

The manuscript is unsuitable for publication.


Step 7: Author Revision

Authors submit:

  • Revised manuscript
  • Response to reviewer comments

Step 8: Secondary Review (If Required)

Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation.


Step 9: Final Acceptance

Once all concerns are satisfactorily addressed, the manuscript receives final acceptance.

Authors are notified via email.


Step 10: Copyediting and Production

Accepted manuscripts undergo:

  • Language editing
  • Formatting
  • Metadata verification
  • DOI assignment
  • Proof generation

Step 11: Author Proof Approval

Authors review and approve the final proof version.  Only minor corrections may be permitted at this stage.


Step 12: Publication

The final article is published online in the assigned issue and becomes immediately accessible to readers under the journal's Open Access Policy.
